Growing up attending an international school in Kobe, Japan, I felt the environment contributed to my acquisition of fluent English and Japanese language skills. However, a few days after working in a Japanese company, I discovered that my Japanese communication skills were not at a competent level to function in the marketplace.
The ability to speak multiple languages is becoming more necessary and more common for people to be successful in international circles. Therefore I wish for Ashiya International School (AIS) to establish a solid core in students to become truly bilingual and fluent in English and Japanese. More importantly though, my goal is to build a solid foundation of Christian principals that guide moral decisions. This will enable students to have the integrity to make sound decisions and grow to become influential leaders of organizations.
In order for students to gain confidence and learn, they must be taught at their level. At AIS we are able to provide this close care and attention, since we are a small school that maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio. We not only teach students at their level but love them for their unique personality and character, and consider them "family". Thank you for considering Ashiya International School as a potential school to establish the educational foundation for your child and family.
